Especially owners of young dogs should rather buy latex toys than toys made of vinyl. Young dogs have very sharp teeth and they tend to not only to destroy the toy but also to swallow small pieces.
As latex is digestible the swallowed piece will not harm your pet. Nevertheless, broken toys should always be replaced with new ones before the dog eats it.
